Glenn Roger Williams, age 87, of Elsie, Michigan passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in Florida.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating.  Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Glenn was born in Fairfield Township, Michigan the son of Leon S. and Ruth E. (Partlow) Williams on July 16, 1928.  Glenn attended Fox School through the 8th grade and graduated from Elsie High School in 1946.  He also graduated from two Agricultural Short Courses at Michigan State College in 1947 and 1948.  He married Cleo Evelyn Hath at the Perry Methodist Church on April 2, 1949.  Glenn resided most of his life in Fairfield Township, MI.

Farming was his life's work and interest.  He was a fourth generation farmer on his family's centennial farm.  He was active in the Farm Bureau serving on county and state committees.  In midlife, he was elected and served as County Commissioner and later as Road Commissioner for Shiawassee County.  Glenn also served as a Director on the Farm Credit Services Board for many years.  He enjoyed traveling both in the United States and abroad, including trips to Hawaii, Italy, Brazil, the Netherlands and Mexico, but most of all enjoyed being with his family.  He was a member of the Chapin United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Cleo Williams of Elsie, MI, son David Williams of Elsie, MI, daughter Barbara and Alex Brown of Ada, MI, daughter Pamela and Dan Washburn of Elsie, MI, daughter Kathy and Rob Teich of Owosso, MI, 9 grandchildren; Leann, Brian, Julie, Bob, Nathan, Amy, Paul, Hannah and Krista, 9 great-grandchildren, sister Joanne Sturgis of Elsie, MI.  Glenn is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Helen Potter Davis.
