Gordon Lewis Jennings, age 80, of Vernon, MI died Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Church of the Nazarene in Corunna, MI on Wednesday, May 9th at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Mike Prince will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Corunna, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna chapel.
Gordon was born in Owosso, Michigan on August 27, 1931, the son of Lewis Calvin and Gladys May (Jones) Jennings. He attended Corunna Schools. Gordon married Rosemary Ann (Buginsky) Jennings on May 1, 1971 in Flint, MI
He was a lifelong resident of Shiawassee County, and retired from Meijer in Corunna in 1997. He had also drove truck for Yankee Retails. Gordon enjoyed woodworking in his shop, was a Detroit Tigers fan, and loved NASCAR, He will be dearly missed by his cat Bud and his dog Annie. He was a member of Corunna Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary Jennings of Vernon, MI; 6 children Storm Van Oost of Caledonia, MI; Terry Carpenter of Grand Blanc, MI; Robin and Jeff Michael of Flint, MI; Rick and Judy Jennings of Flint, MI; Joe and Tina Jennings of Saginaw, MI; Debbie West of Grand Blanc, MI; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister Beverly Graim of Owosso, MI; 2 nephews Eric Chandler of Durand, MI; Aaron Chandler of Lansing, MI; niece Casey Walker of Pandora, OH; sister-in-law Kathy and Keith Taylor of Lennon, MI; brother-in-law Jerry and Mary Alice Buginsky of Owosso, MI; and lifelong friends Doug and Evelyn Welch of Owosso, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Dale Carpenter, and a brother Robert Jennings.
