Gordon Ray Schloneger, age 72, of Breckenridge, MI died Monday, June 22, 2009 in Iron Mountain, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Amazing Grace Church in Wheeler, MI on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Rev. Richard Jolliff will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 from 6-9 PM. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel and also on Friday, June 26, 2009 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Amazing Grace Church.

Gordon was born in Carson City, Michigan on July 26, 1936, the son of Ray and Jessie (Haynes) Schloneger. He was married to Verna Martin on June 20, 1970 in Detroit, MI. Gordon served in the U.S. Army, and was a lifelong resident of Breckenridge. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and retired from Martin Chevrolet in Saginaw 10 years ago. He was also a member of Amazing Grace Church in Wheeler, MI.

He is survived by his wife Verna Schloneger of Breckenridge, MI, 2 sons; David Schloneger of Breckenridge, MI, Donald Schloneger of Florida, foster granddaughter Jennifer and Mark Baker of Goshen, IN, 3 great grandchildren Clayton, Kayley, and Bradon; and a stepsister Ginger Audette of Marquette, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers Gary and Gale.
