Grace Putnam

"Aunt Grace" Irene Putnam, age 85 of Ovid, Michigan passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at Twin Oak Foster Care in Elsie, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 8, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. at Middlebury United Methodist Church, Ovid Michigan. Rev. Gordon Schleicher will officiate. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Ovid, Michigan.
Grace was born on November 25, 1918 in Ovid, Michigan, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Snyder) Putnam. She graduated from Flint School for the Deaf on February 4, 1938. For a few years she worked for Shiawassee Council on Aging. She also worked for several area residents as in-home care. She was a member of Middlebury United Methodist Church in Ovid, Michigan. She was also involved in Farm Bureau, Laingsburg and Ovid Senior Citizens, and Middlebury WSCS.
She is survived by three nephews, Keith (Shanna) Putnam, Ovid, Michigan; Ken (Marsha) Putnam, Elsie, Michigan; Lynn (Sue) Putnam, Holland, Michigan, three great-nephews, Todd (LeAnn) Putnam, Ovid, Michigan; Neil (Kathy) Putnam, Ovid, Michigan; Chris (Dawn) Putnam, Chelsea, Michigan, one great-niece, Katie Putnam, Holland, Michigan, four great great-nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Putnam.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother George Putnam.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Shiawassee County Hospice, or Middlebury United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
