Grant William Daniels age 67, of Perrinton, MI, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, Michigan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Perrinton, MI, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. John Cotter officiating.  Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI.

Grant was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 7, 1949, the son of Virgil William and Frances N. (Harden) Daniels.  He graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 1967; he then went to CMU and graduated in 1972.  On August 2, 1980 Grant married Linda Ruth (Galbraith) at St. Martin's De Porres Catholic Church.  Grant taught for 36 years in the Ithaca Public School System retiring in 2008.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time at his cabin in Houghton Lake. His family was very important to him especially his grandchildren and his nephews and nieces. He was an avid pheasant hunter and walleye slayer. Grant was a member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Linda Daniels, son Patrick, and Kayla Daniels, daughter Kathryn “Kate” and Dave Galla, 3 grandchildren; Lexi and Charlie Galla and Rex Daniels, his twin brother Gregg and Linda Daniels and many nephews and nieces.  Grant was predeceased by his parents, his brother Mark, his aunt and uncle who were special to him; Irene and Barney Burl, and his father in law Ted Galbraith.
