Halden "Mutt" Muscott age 95 of Breckenridge, Michigan died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel St. Louis, MI on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Halden was born in Emerson Township, Michigan on January 2, 1912 the son of Ray Albert and Hazel Dawn ( Ferguson ) Muscott. He resided most of his life in the Breckenridge area and graduated from Breckenridge High School with the class of 1931. Halden married Lenore Muriel Smith on July 4, 1939 in Ithaca at the Presbyterian Manse. He was a farmer and he had worked for Oldsmobile in Lansing. He loved all sports and loved hunting, fishing, and playing pool. He was proud of his grandchildren and was glad to have the opportunity to see them grow into young adults. Halden was a member of the Goodrich Rife Club of Ithaca, and the M-46 Horseshoe. He served on the board of the Michigan Sugar Beet Company, and was a former Emerson Towhship Supervisor..
He is survived by his wife Lenore Muscott of Breckenridge, MI, 2 daughters; Myrna & James Wieber of St. Johns, MI, Carol & Samuel Smith of Bannister, MI, 6 grandchildren Robert & Cheryl Wieber of Lapeer, MI, Eric Wieber of Royal Oak, MI, Dean Wieber of Freeport, MI, Brian Wieber of St. Johns, MI, Emily Smith of Bannister, MI, Hannah Smith of Bannister, MI, 2 great grandchildren Zachary & Grace Wieber, and 2 sisters; Veta Buckley of Grand Rapids, MI, and Ilah Gillespie of Grand Rapids, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, and 4 brothers Stanley, Hollis, Felton, & Merlin.
Memorials may be made to Breckenridge High School F.F.A. Program. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
