Harold McGuire

Harold Richard McGuire, age 82, of Grand Haven, MI passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at North Ottawa Community Hospital, Grand Haven, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ray Paget officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Harold was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on January 15, 1930, the son of Walter James and Alma Harriet (Brideweiser) McGuire. He attended Tennessee Temple University. On July 26, 1953 Harold married Ruth Lyle. Ruth died January 28, 2001. On September 14, 2002 he married Fanny (Tuinstra) Vanderjagt. Harold was a retired minister from Calvary Baptist Church, Ovid, Michigan. He also served churches in Levering, Port Huron, Smiths Creek, Chicago and Coloma. He enjoyed electronics. Harold resided in the Elsie area most of his life, before moving to Grand Haven in 1996. He was a member of Grand Haven Community Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Fanny McGuire of Grand Haven, MI, children; Richard McGuire of Muskegon, MI, Sharon McGuire of Westland, MI, Cathleen Bylsma of Grand Haven, MI, Harriet Grice of Grand Ledge, MI, Carolyn and Richard Ferrall of Bannister, MI, James McGuire of Louisville, KY, and Stanley and Jennifer McGuire of Coopersville, MI, 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, sisters; Dorothy McElhaney, and Edna Wicke and
brother James W. and Doreen McGuire. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Ruth, a daughter, and 1 sister Wilma.
