Harold Lynn Putnam, age 81, of Ithaca, MI left this life to be reunited with his wife on Saturday, July 10th, 2010 at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, MI. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at New Haven United Brethren Church on Tuesday, July 13th at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Rex Webb will officiate. The family will meet friends and relatives at 9:30 AM until the time of service.
Harold was born in Ithaca, Michigan on January 28, 1929, the son of Herbert Lynn and Della Lucille (Williams) Putnam. He attended Ithaca Schools. Harold married Onalee Berdene (Litwiller) Putnam on November 18, 1952 in Angola, IN. She passed away on December 6, 2008. He was a lifelong resident of Ithaca. Harold proudly served his country in the US Army-Korean War. He enjoyed history, reading, painting, and supporting the armed forces. He and his family owned and operated the Putnam Company until 1962, and then went to work as an accountant and sales person for Davis Ford in Ithaca. He was the Gratiot County Veterans Administrator for several years. He was a member of New Haven United Brethren Church.
He will be missed by a daughter Lynne and Walter Wentz of Crete, IL; 3 granddaughters Courtney and Eric Greenlee of Bloomington, IL, Tara and Kevin Peters of Casper, Wyo., Amber Wyeth of Ithaca, MI; and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter Dana Putnam in 2003, and 2 brothers.
