Harold Owen Stadlberger age 85 of Ithaca, Michigan died on Friday, June 2, 2006 at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-8 P.M. with family present from 1-4 & 6-8 P.M. Pastor John Wood will officiate and burial will take place in New Haven Township Cemetery, New Haven Township, Michigan.
Harold was born in Alma, Michigan on October 13, 1920, the son of Ernest & Hattie ( Dean ) Stadlberger, he resided most of his life in New Haven Township & Ithaca, Michigan. He graduated from Perrinton High School with the class of 1938. On February 6, 1943 he married Eloise Bell Akin in New Haven Township, Michigan. He had owned the New Haven Center Store from 1946 to 1968 and then he had worked for New Moon Homes, Detroiter Homes & Whitman Industries as purchasing agent, retiring in 1982. Then he worked part time for Rent Rite & Rica�(TM)s Foodcenter.
Harold was a member of Ithaca Baptist Church, in Ithaca, Michigan and he served his country in the US Army during WW 2, and was a Life member of the VFW Post 1454, in Alma, Michigan. Service to his community included serving on the New Haven Township Board for 24 years, New Haven School Board for 9 years, New haven Township and Ithaca Elections boards for 43 years, He was a deacon, & financial secretary & assistant treasure of the Ithaca Baptist Church, and was a board member and former chairman of the Senior Activity Center in Ithaca, Michigan.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Stadlberger of Ithaca, Michigan, 1 daughter, DeeAnn & Marvin Smith of Maple Rapids, Michigan, 1 son, Damen & Barbara Stadlberger of St. Louis, Michigan, 4 grandchildren, Tamara, Stephanie, Stacy & Chad, 10 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Robert & May Stadlberger, many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, great grandson, Graham, 1 brother Dean Stadlberger.
Memorials may be made to the Ithaca Baptist Church or Senior Activity Center, Ithaca, Michigan.
