Harriet Erma Miller, age 83, of Ithaca, Michigan, peacefully passed away with her loved ones by her side Monday, March 17, 2025, at Country Blessings Adult Foster Care, St. Louis, Michigan.
A Memorial Service will be held at Seville Community Church of God, Elwell, Michigan, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will take place at a later date.
Harriet was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on April 3, 1941 the daughter R.G. and Lottie Leona (Walter) Schlarf. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1958. On March 3, 1959, Harriet married Robert Weaver in Alma at her home. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1966. On May 23, 1970, Harriet married John W. Miller at Seville Church of God, Elwell, MI, and he preceded her in death on April 5, 2014.
Harriet devoted herself to her family and caring for her home. She worked at the Alma IGA Bakery, and then at the Gratiot Community Hospital cafeteria until her retirement. In retirement she was a transporter for DHHS. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #1566 in St. Louis and a member of Seville Community Church of God.
Harriet enjoyed crocheting, quilting and embroidery. She had a green thumb and loved gardening and preparing delicious meals for others. Later in life, she also enjoyed coloring and doing puzzles.
Harriet is survived by her daughter Robin Gingerich of St. Louis, MI; son Herbert (Kathleen) Weaver of Alma, MI; step-daughter Laura (Bryn) Snearey of Burton, MI; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Donald Weaver, son-in-law David Gingerich, step-sons: David Miller, John Miller Jr., and Merle Miller; and siblings: Shirley Gath, Barbara Kanine, Ted Schlarf, Leona Little, and Robert Schlarf.
Memorials may be made to Country Blessings AFC or Care Team Hospice. Online condolences may be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan.
