Harriet Sherman

Harriet Pearl Sherman, age 80, of Ithaca, Michigan died Saturday, August 29, 2015 with her family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, Michigan on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M., Mrs. Jo Jones will officiate. Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Harriet was born in Elm Hall, Michigan on March 27, 1935, the daughter of Andrew N. and Mildred (Fike) Brecht. She resided most of her life in Sumner and Ithaca, Michigan. Harriet was a homemaker and she did home care for many people in the area. Harriet enjoyed sewing, reading and attending her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's sporting events. She attended the Ithaca Senior Citizen Center and the Church of God.
She is survived by 2 sons; DeWayne and Brenda Marcy, Terry and Stephanie Marcy, daughters; Jennifer and Jerry Courser, Dawn Spitler, Jackie and Kevin Chaffin, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, brothers; John and Donna Brecht, Jerry and Sharon Brecht, sisters; Helen Wilson, Janet Higbee, Barbara Jerome, sister in law Shirley Brecht, brother in laws; Dick Eichorn, and Daniel Lepley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Harriet was predeceased by her parents, brother Andrew "Boyd" Brecht, 2 sisters; Norma Eichorn and Marjorie Lepley, son in law, Brian Spitler, brother in laws; William Jerome, Lloyd Wilson, Edward Higbee.
Memorials may be made to Ithaca Senior Center.
