Harry Carlson

Harry Edward Carlson age 86 formerly of Esters, Florida died Monday, February 18, 2008 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI.


There will be no Services or Visitation.


Harry was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 21, 1921 the son of Carl Edward and Judith Esther ( Rosena ) Carlson. He graduated from Rock Island High School in Illinois with the class of 1939. He then earned his associates degree at the Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Harry married Mary Louise Seanor in Pennsylvania. She died on December 30, 1960. Harry retired after working 40 years for various railroad companies, State of Michigan Department of Transportation, Amtrack. Harry served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a lifetime member of the Elks.


He is survived by 4 children; Patrick & Betsy Seanor of Grand Rapids, MI, Pam & Neil Hill of Asheville, NC, Judy & Ron Schuelka of White Cloud, MI, Gay & Mike Kelly of St. Louis, MI, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and wife.


Memorials may be made to Gratiot Area Hospice or to the American Cancer Society. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
