Harry Curtis

Harry Delos Curtis age 84 of Carland, Michigan died Friday, January 2, 2004 at his home. He was retired manager from Carland Elevator where he worked for more than 35 years.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Rev. Lance Ness will officiate with burial at Fairfield Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6-8 P.M. and Sunday 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Harry was born in Fairfield Township on August 23, 1919 the son of Arthur O. & Mary ( Field ) Curtis. He attended Carland area school. On October 31, 1937 he married Josephine Sloat in Auburn, Indiana. Josephine died November 11, 1999. He was a member of Carland United Methodist Church.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon Kay & James Glass of Topeka, KS, Sally Jo Curtis & Husband Bill Csapos of Owosso, MI, 1 son Leston Fay Curtis of Carland, MI, 3 grandchildren, Brian, Maria, Lynette 2 great grandchildren Micah & Hannah, 2 sisters Vaudery Barnard of Durand, MI, Marjorie Bradley of Owosso, MI, 1 brother, Arthur & Lois Curtis of Elsie, MI, sister in law, Philena Curtis of Fremont, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, wife, 2 brothers, Kenneth Curtis & Almarion Bacon.
Memorials may be made to Carland United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
