Harry Sitts

Harry William Sitts, age 86, of Alma, MI, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - 117 N. East St., St. Louis, MI, on Friday, January 17, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. with Benjamen Evers officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M., and on Friday, January 17, 2020, beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Harry was born in Wheeler, MI on August 5, 1933, the son of Carl and Edna (Schartiger) Sitts.  Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army. On September 18, 1982, Harry married Maitland "Fussy" Cole Lowery at St. Johns Episcopal Church, Alma. They enjoyed 37 years of marriage.

Harry worked for Monroe Trucking as a driver and mechanic over 30 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the game show channel.

Harry is survived by his wife Fussy Sitts of Alma, 5 children: Marcia (Craig) Wright of Allegan, Steve (Rose) Lowery of Riverdale, Bruce Lowery of Sumner, Brenda Pung of Mt. Pleasant, Kelly (Karen) Lowery of Ithaca; and daughter-in-law Jill Parcher of Elwell. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brother Earl "LeRoy" Sitts, and sister Shirley Sitts.  Harry was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Johan, step-son Lloyd Parcher Jr., son in law Joe Pung, and 7 siblings: Bernice Sitts, Cecil Sitts, Fern Cochran, Alton Sitts, Eileen Lange, Ray Sitts, and Norma Northrup; 2 brothers-in-law: Max (Mary) Cole and Marvin Cole; and 2 sisters-in-law: Marcella Childres and Marva "Teasie" (Dewey) Vining.
