Harvey LeRoy Lord

     Harvey LeRoy Lord, age 83, of DeWitt, MI, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023.

     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI, at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 24, 2023, with Pastor Scott Nemeth officiating.  Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.

     Harvey was born in Alma, MI on July 24, 1940, the son of Howard Laverne and Doris Aletha (Cummings) Lord.  Harvey was a graduate of St. Louis High School and later attended Ferris State College.

     Harvey loved racing and fast cars.  He did enjoy flying and at one time, he was working toward obtaining his certification and pilot license.  Boating and going on trips in his motor home was one of his favorite past times.  He loved spending time at Higgins Lake and Lake Leelanau and traveling.  His greatest joy was spending time with family.

     Harvey and Shirley (Smith) had three wonderful children together, Tammy, Timmy, and Tricia.  Harvey and Nancy (Connor) were friends and life partners for the last fifteen years.  They shared their beloved pet cat Oreo.

     He is survived by his daughter Tammy Balyo; son Tim and Esther Lord; daughter Trish and Anthony Rodebaugh; life partner Nancy Connor;  9 grandchildren:  Amber Lord, Justin Balyo, Alyssa Johnston, Alexis Lord, Ashley Lord, Kayla Kauffman, Andrea Lord, Tim Lord, and Teagan Rummelt; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Sue Ann and Craig Smith; 2 nephews.  Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Mary Ann Lord, and great-niece Kaitlyn Smith.
