Hayden Raymond Timothy Hinkley, age 56, of Elsie, MI passed away suddenly, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital, Lansing, MI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Rick Bokinskie officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 P.M., with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI. Visitation will also be on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
Hayden was born in Landstuhl, Germany on January 31, 1959, the son of Earl Hayden and Socorro (Griego) Hinkley. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School with the class of 1977. Hayden went on to attend Angelo State University where he received his nursing degree.
Hayden married Karen Marie Stewart on October 28, 2007. Hayden worked at McLaren Greater Lansing Hospital for 19 years as a registered nurse. He enjoyed hot rods and blues music. He was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Bannister, MI. Hayden's greatest love was his kids. Hayden's passion was helping others. He loved and served God with all he did. Even in his passing he continued to give, by donating his organs to give others life. His motto was, 'The man who dies with the most people he has helped WINS.' Hayden loved greatly and he was greatly loved. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Karen Marie (Stewart) Hinkley of Elsie, MI, daughter Nicole Suzanne Hinkley of Oxford, MS, daughter Rain Socorro Rose Hinkley, son Summit Hayden Luke Hinkley, grandson Otto Alexander vonHardberger, brother Warren and Belinda Hinkley of Decatur, TX, sister Nina Socorro Hinkley of San Angelo, TX, sister Debra and Richard Lawler of San Angelo, TX, sister Eileen Hinkley of Stanwood, WA, brother Adam and Tiffany Hinkley of San Angelo, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
