Heidi Jo Ackels-Budge

     Heidi Jo Ackels-Budge, age 62, of Dallas, TX, formerly of Elsie, MI, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025.
     A Memorial Service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. with visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
     Heidi was born in Owosso, Michigan on August 19, 1962, the daughter of Keith RG and Diana Kay (Thompson) Ackels. She graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School and earned a Medical Assistant Certificate at Ross Medical Education Center.
     Heidi loved her family and spent a large portion of her life caring for them. She enjoyed being outside in the warm weather with her little dog Mindy. Heidi's smile was infectious and lit up the room and others around her. She liked to take photos wherever she went "of anything and everything!"
     She is survived by her father Keith Ackels, daughters: Sara Sevenski, and Molly (Garry) Sanfilippo; the father of her daughters James Budge, grandchildren: Kylee (Jakob), and Skilar (Dakota); siblings: Ricky Ackels, Charlie Ackels, and Bernadette (Donnie Flanner) Corl; partner Dan Mathews, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Diana Pollitt, and two infant sisters.
