Helen Colton Baker age 96 of Corunna, Michigan, died on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Shiawassee County Medical Center, Corunna, Michigan. Funeral services will be at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with visitation Monday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Garden in Owosso, Michigan.
Helen was born in Peotone, Illinois on July 18, 1911 the daughter of Elmer & Jessie (Bouvee) Colton and had attended schools in Illinois. She married Merle Baker on May 14, 1932 in Vernon, Michigan, Merle predeceased her in May of 1964, and she had resided most of her life in the Corunna & Owosso areas. She had worked at the Singer Sewing Shop, Dr. Lutona�(TM)s office, Memorial Healthcare Center, she graduated from McPherson Hospital as a LPN in 1967 and in her later years, she worked as a Private duty nurse and retired in 1982. Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owosso, Michigan.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Terry & Onalee Baker of Jenison, Michigan, Keith & Marion Baker of Owosso, Michigan, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren, 1 sister, Lillian Jones of Owosso, Michigan, 3 sister-in-laws, Inez & Marion Colton & Pat Brock. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Charles, Fred & Philip Colton & 1 sister Audrey Colton, daughter in law, Lee Baker.
Memorials may be made to the Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, Corunna, Michigan.
