Helen Bator

Helen Ilene Bator, age 83, of Ionia, Michigan died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her home in Ionia, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Ithaca, Michigan on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., Reverend Karen Huddleson and Reverend Peggy Ronk will officiate. Burial will take place at Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 3-7 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca Chapel.

Helen was born in Ithaca, Michigan on April 29, 1927, the daughter of Harold and Avis L. (Coleman) Mouser. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1945. On August 23, 1947 Helen married Stanley Bator in Ithaca, Michigan. Helen was a homemaker, and resided in Ithaca Michigan most of her life, moving to Eaton Rapids in 1966. She had formerly worked at the Gratiot County Probate Court as a clerk. She was the historian and treasurer for the Michigan Unit of the Wally Byam Caravan Club. Helen enjoyed arts and crafts and her flowers. Music was very important to her also. She was a former member of Ithaca Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband Stanley Bator of Ionia, MI, 2 daughters; Susan and Warren Thompson of Ionia, MI, Lori and Blake Vaughan of Lansing, MI, grandchildren; Angela and Matthew Stover, Kristin Thompson, Jared Thompson, Jennifer McQuaid, Stephanie and Buck Snyder. She was predeceased by her parents, and 1 brother Deane Mouser.
