Helen R. (Greer) Bobzien age 70 of St. Louis, Michigan died December 15, 2007 at Gratiot Medical Center, Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Kevin Maksym will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M., .
Helen was born in Union Township, Michigan on February 18, 1937 the daughter of Lawrence & Christine (Barnard) Greer. She resided in St. Louis for the past 52 years. She attended school in Mt. Pleasant graduated from Sacred Heart Academy.
Helen married Robert Bobzien in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on February 2, 1956. She owned and operated the Friendly Tavern in St. Louis and also worked as a Lab Technician at Michigan Chemical. Her family was very important in her life. In her younger years she rode horses in rodeo's and won many ribbons. She was a person who held her family together and loved going to the cabin on Chippewa Lake. Helen was a member of Attended Mount St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Louis and also St. Marys Catholic Church in Alma.. .
She is survived by Husband: Robert Bobzien of St. Louis, Michigan, 3 sons: Bob & Beth Bobzien of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Rick & Kim Bobzien, of Harrison, Michigan, Jeff & Laureen Bobzien of Bay Town, Texas, 5 grandchildren: Jason Bobzien, Tina Pitcher, Angie Sparks, J.D. Bobzien, Jacob Bobzien, 10 great grandchildren, 1 sister: Shirley & Emmett Van Aucker, 1 brother, Jerry Greer.She was predeceased by her parents & 1 brother, Larry Greer.
Memorials may be made to Mount St. Joseph Catholic Church or Gratiot County Hospice program.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
