Age 84 of Shepherd, Michigan passed away Monday, October 13, 2003 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma, Michigan. She was a homemaker. In the past she enjoyed bowling, gardening, camping, fishing, and needlework. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family very much.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Rev. Doris Lyon will officiate with burial at Ferris Center Cemetery, Vestaburg, Michigan. Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
Helen was born on August 1, 1919 in Merrill, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Edna (Corey) Siegmund. She graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1937. On May 8, 1937 she married Stanley Bunce. She was a member of United Methodist Women at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. In the past, she and her family also attended Coe Church of Christ. She resided most of her life in Pleasant Valley and the St. Johns area.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley of Shepherd, MI, 3 daughters, Harriett & Gerald Fairchild of Shepherd, MI, Betty & Dale McClintic of Lake George, MI, and Linda Garrod of Houghton Lake, MI, 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, son, Dwight Bunce and sister, Elizabeth Wyman.
Memorials may be made to Gratiot Home Health Care of Midland County Commission on Aging. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
