Helen Lucretia Davis age 98 of Byron, Michigan died Monday, July 25, 2005 at Serenity House, Byron, Michigan

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Owosso, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and Thursday, July 28, 2005 from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. before the service.

Helen was born in Osceola County, Michigan on September 28, 1906 the daughter of Rufus Fredrick and Bertha May ( Ransom ) Thompson. She attended Marion Schools. She resided most of her life in Marion until her marriage when she moved to Durand, MI. Helen married Ervin S. Davis in Osceola County on March 1, 1931. He died July 22, 1985. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed making baby quilts and lap robes. She had made over 2000 baby quilts for the Memorial Healthcare Center of Owosso, and the lap robes were given to the Saginaw Disabled Veterans. She also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corunna, MI, and the Farm Bureau.

She is survived by her daughter Juanita & Don Ely of Three Rivers, MI, son Ervin J. & Gladys Davis of Owosso, MI, daughter Joan M. Zsigo of Gaines, MI, son Jerry & Lois Davis of DeWitt, MI, son Roy & Linda Davis of Corunna, MI, 24 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, sister Violet Wing of Mio, MI, brother-in-law Les Davis of Flint, MI, and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Ervin Davis, daughter Joyce Slawson, son Donald Davis, daughter Geraldine Davis, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.

The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Serenity House. Memorials may be made to Serenity House. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
