Helen Maxine Humphrey, age 92, formerly of Pleasant Valley, MI and Midland, MI, passed away Friday December 5, 2014, while residing at the Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, WA.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Louis, MI on Monday June 1, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Chuck Keyworth of Midland's First United Methodist Church officiating.
Helen was born in Pleasant Valley, Michigan on August 10, 1922, being the second daughter of eight children born to George Nelson and Gertrude Belle (Quidort) Bailey. Helen married James "Red" Humphrey on October 5, 1940.
Helen is survived by son James D. Humphrey of Midland, MI, and daughters; Connie E. Hannah and Penny J. Giering, both of Murrieta, CA. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and one sister Florine Brown of St. Louis, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James "Red', and son Mickey Morgan.
Helen spent many of her retirement years devoted to the many activities of the Midland Horseshoe Club. Financial considerations may be made to that organization in her name.
