Marie Helen Fox, age 90, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Marie was born on June 1, 1934, in Clinton County, (9th child of 12) of Joseph & Anna (Werner) Thelen. She married Bernard Fox on May 29, 1956. They were married for 60 years and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2016. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, belonged to St. Sylvia Guild Alter Society, former 4-H leader, and for many years she was a hospice volunteer. She loved being with her family, playing cards, bingo, baking, doing puzzles, and taking long walks.
Surviving are 5 children: William (Vicky) Fox of St. Johns, MI; Suzanne (Robert) Wallace of Lansing, MI; Carol (Dale) Jury of St. Johns MI & Sun City West, AZ; Thomas (Vera) Fox of Laingsburg, MI; and Ann (Leon) Parker of St. Johns, MI. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Erica (Dennis) Bond, Nicholas (Veronica) Wallace, Sarah Wallace, Breanna Fox, Phillip Fox, Ashleigh Fox, Nicol Parker, Taylor (Erika) Parker, and Jessica (Kyle) Pash; great-grandchildren; Elijah Fox, Ember & Ransom Bond, Jude & Juliette Wallace, Aksa, Kelilah & Ilia Pash, and Oliver Parker and her 2 sisters: Loretta (Jerry) Helm, and Therese (Jules) Poirier; 2 brothers: Stanley Thelen, and Francis (Jeanette) Thelen; and sister-in-law Mary Fox. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bernard Fox, parents Joseph and Anna Thelen, granddaughter Alexandra Parker, sisters: Betty Schafer, and Doris Andrews, brothers: Paul, Alvin, Jerome, Donald, and Leon, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams presiding. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Homes- Osgood Chapel from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. A Rosary and time of sharing will be held on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held the hour prior to the funeral at the church.
