Helen G. Scott age 94 of Bannister died Sunday, January 18, 2004 at the Masonic Home in Alma, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel in Elsie, Michigan. Rev. Diane Gordon will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. There will be an order of Eastern Star Service on Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. Burial will take play at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie, Michigan.
Helen was born in Bannister, Michigan on August 12, 1909 the daughter of Edward & Agnes (Cook) Moore. She graduated from Bannister High School with the class of 1928. She married Ivan H. Scott on June 7, 1930 in Bowling Green, Ohio. Ivan died on June 8, 1995. She was a homemaker who was a 4-H leader for many years and she enjoyed camping & traveling. Helen was a member of the Bannister United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star #69 Elsie, the Watermelon Club, Sunshine Club, and Michigan Travel Trailer Club. She resided most of her life in the Bannister area.
Survivors include her daughter Evelyn & Harold Kern of Elsie, MI, 3 granddaughters; Karen & Rick Tetsworth of Manistee, MI, Rhonda & Russell Gingrich of St. Johns, MI, and Jane Porubsky of Traverse City, MI and 8 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, 1 granddaughter Sharon Porubsky, 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Memorials may be made to Bannister United Methodist Church, Bannister, MI. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
