Helen Elizabeth Wilcox, 75, of Owosso, MI, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Hospice House of Mid Michigan, Lansing, MI.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI, with Rev. Fr. Bill Gruden officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. with a Scripture Service held at 7:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI.
Helen was born in Hamtramck, MI on March 10, 1942, the daughter of John and Mary (Ruzinsky) Fatura. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1960. Later in life she went on to attended Central Michigan University and received her bachelor degree in Business Administration. Helen married LeRoy Wilcox on October 29, 1960 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI. LeRoy passed away on October 8, 2006.
Helen enjoyed gardening, reading and volunteering. She spent many years managing three specialty clinics in Traverse City specializing in Drug and Alcohol Therapy, Midwife and Alzheimer's. She retired and she and LeRoy moved to St. Cloud Florida in 1995. She worked part time at Disney World and then went on to manage the human resource department for the city of St. Cloud. Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Owosso, MI. She had also been a Eucharistic Minister at other churches she was a member.
She is survived by her children; Lisa Zimmerman of Traverse City, MI, Gregory and Valerie Wilcox of Painsville, OH, Dana Bosak and Wade Hobby of Orlando, FL, Eric and Dawn Wilcox of Westland, MI, grandchildren; Cory Dunham, Candice and Sean Silver, Casey Dunham, Colt Dunham, Brian and Angel Wilcox, Shawn Wilcox, Nicholas, Alexander, and Jessica Bosak, Deric, Collin, Beau, and Ambrose Wilcox, 6 great grandchildren; Rhys, Phoenix, Calie, Claire, Luke and Vincent. She is also survived by her siblings; Mary Ann and Jerry Horn, John and Paula Fatura, Lillian and Bruce Bigham and sister in law Carolyn Davis. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her father and mother in law, Harland and Muriel Wilcox and brother in law Doug Davis.
