Herbert was born in Clare County, Michigan on March 21, 1942, the son of Chester P and Evelyn B (Waldron) Sutten. He resided in St.Louis and LaPorte, IN. He enjoyed camping and hunting. He had worked at Lobdell-Emery in Alma for several years, and then worked at Howmet LaPorte Casting in LaPorte, IN where he retired from. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers Cecil, Clifford, and James.
