Hilda Marie Furry age 94 of Owosso, Michigan died on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso, Michigan. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes- Jennings-Lyons Chapel, Owosso. Mr. Reggie Adkins will officiate and visitation will be on Monday, October 1, 2007 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. & Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 10 A.M. till the time of service. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Hilda was born on December 18, 1912 in Cedar Lake, Michigan the daughter of Edward & Pearl (Van Wagoner) Habermehl. She had attended Venice Center & Owosso High School and resided most of her life in the Owosso area. She married Roland Furry on November 30, 1935 in Owosso, Michigan. Roland passed away on May 11, 1989. Hilda enjoyed traveling and going places with her family, she also loved to help other people and never put herself first. She was a member of Gilead Baptist Church in Owosso, Michigan and the Golden Agers; she was active in Kiwanis Village when she lived there.
Survivors include her 3 daughters, Jenetta Ewing of Owosso, Michigan, Maxine & Edwin Mandel of Durand, Michigan, Patricia Laird of Lennon, Michigan, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren, 3 sister in-laws, Jeanette Habermehl, Ruth Sprague, Arlene St. John, 1 brother in-law, Ray & Jackie Wirth and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband; Roland, 6 brothers; Clarence, Eddie, Howard, Fred, Lloyd, Ervin, son in-law; Richard Ewing, son in-law; Donald Laird.
Memorials may be made to Memorial Healthcare Hospice or Gilead Baptist Church.
