Holland Sanders

Holland McNeer Sanders age 64, of Wayne, MI passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Ernest Neace officiating.  Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI.  Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 12:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Holland was born in West Hamlin, West Virginia on November 22, 1951, the son of Herman Jackson and Easter Virginia (McCoy) Sanders.  He resided most of his life in Wayne, MI.  Holland liked hunting, fishing and flowers, especially roses.  He also loved motorcycles and old cars.  His puppies were an important part of his life.  Holland was an avid gun and knife collector.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Sanders of Wayne, MI, daughter Lavonna and Trevor Roop of Petoskey, MI, 2 sons; James Sanders of Mio, MI, Michael and Joy Sanders of Wayne, MI, 2 step-sons; James and Christine Joyner of Wayne, MI, Steve and Jennifer Joyner of St. Louis, MI, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Herman "Ed" and Angela Sanders of Ithaca, MI, and sister Phyllis and Ernest Neace of Ranger, WV.  Holland was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Sharlene Lott and Bonnie Sanders and brother Eddie Sanders.
