Homer Hoshield

Homer R. Hoshield age 77 of Haslett, Michigan died Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Edward Sparrow Hospital Lansing, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel on Friday, February 10, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Bob Zimmerman will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Februray 9, 2006 from 6-9 P.M.

Homer was born in Fenmore, Michigan on May 22, 1928 the son of Rudolph and Ruby ( Evans ) Hoshield. He resided most of his life in the Elsie area and attended Country School in Fenmore, MI. Homer married Julia M. Hunt on August 7, 1950 in Angola, Indiana. He retired from J & H Roll Forming in 1990. He enjoyed playing golf and ice fishing.

Homer is survived by his wife Julia Hoshield of Haslett, MI, children; Diane & Richard Zimmerman of Owosso, MI, Marlene & Dan Osborn of Williamston, MI, Steven Hoshield of St. Peters, MO. 6 grandchildren; Tami Osborne, Kevin & Christopher Zimmerman, Brian & Margaret Zimmerman, Stacy & Ryan Hoshield, 4 great grandchildren; Alyson Osborne, Taylor Zimmerman, Logan & Mila Zimmerman, brother Frank Hoshield and sisters; Beatrice Baese, Dorthea Kelley, and Rosalind Jordan. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, Chuck and Clayton Hoshield, and 3 sisters, Olive Tucker, Vena Loznak, and Genieve Blunt.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
