Howard Delano Lott

     Howard Delano Lott, age 90, of Harrison, formerly of Pompeii, MI, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023, at his home.

     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca Chapel, Ithaca, MI at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 19, 2023. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI.

     Howard was born in Crystal, Michigan on November 23, 1932, the son of Chester R. and Lila M. (Husted) Lott. Howard married Lunetta L. Jolly on July 10, 1959; she passed away on December 5, 2015.  Howard married Jacalyn (Pelkey) Black on June 21, 2017, in Ithaca, MI. 

     Howard retired from Alma Products as a manager in 1994 after forty-three years of service.  He also owned/operated the North Star Trader for fifteen years. Howard and Jackie moved from Pompeii to Harrison in 2017. He was an avid hunter whether it is an elk, bear buffalo or mushrooms. He enjoyed camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and riding motorcycles. Howard was talented in woodworking and he made many desks during the pandemic for school age children in Harrison to work on their schooling at home. Howard was a member of the Ithaca Senior Activity Building where he was instrumental in getting the horse shoe court installed. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

     He is survived by his wife Jacalyn Lott; his daughter-in-law Rosemarie Ayers; his nephews and nieces: Martin, Robert, Lorna, Robin, and Debbie; step-children: Jill Black & Joe Black; step-grandchildren: Cullen and Heath; and honorary daughter Kathy Gearheart.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lunetta, and his sons: Robert and Leroy Ayers, one granddaughter Sherry Annette Ayers, and his brother Donald Lott.
