Howard Rye Jr

Howard Vincent Rye, Jr., age 67 and Judith Ann Rye age 65, of Corunna, MI passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at their cabin up north.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. John Walworth officiating. Burial will be held at Wilkinson Cemetery, Shiawassee County, MI. Visitation will be Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 4-8 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Howard was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on January 3, 1944, the son of Howard Vincent and Bertha A. (Wonnocott) Rye. Judith was born in Madisonville, Kentucky on January 2, 1946 the daughter of Ralph Wayne and Katherine Oletia (Baumgartner) Spence. Howard attended Pickford High School & Judith attended Central Evansville, IN High School. Howard and Judith were married September 27, 1969 in Flint, MI and resided most of their lives in Corunna, MI.

Howard and Judith both loved hunting, fishing and most importantly spending time with their grandchildren. Howard served his country in the U.S. Army.

They are survived by 2 sons; Howard & Jeanie Rye III of Corunna, MI, and Joseph Rye of Clio, MI, 2 granddaughters; Megan Rye and Macey Rye of Corunna, MI, Judith's mother Oletia Spence of Evansville, IN, Howard's 3 sisters; Avis & Fred Davis of the Carolinas, Bev Waybrant of St. Ignace, MI and Bonnie Leach of Pickford, MI, and Judith's brother Rod Spence of Evansville, IN. They were preceded in death by Howard's parents, Judith's father and Howard's sister Virginia Stevenson.
