Hulan "Hugh" C. Sanger age 87 of Wheeler, Michigan died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Gratiot Medical Center Alma, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Wheeler Free Methodist Church, Wheeler, MI on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Pastor Amy Thompson and Pastor A. Stephen Bowker will officiate with burial at Wheeler Township Cemetery Wheeler, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2006 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M.
Hulan was born in Mecosta County, Michigan on April 22, 1919 the son of Claud Leroy and Bertha Maud ( Butcher ) Sanger. He resided most of his life in the Breckenridge, and Wheeler areas and attended Barryton Country Schools and Allen Country Schools. Hulan married Dorothea Clark on February 22, 1939 in Midland County, Michigan. He retired from the State of Michigan MDOT as an electrician in 1981. He was an avid fisherman, and ejoyed hunting, and playing dominos. Hulan was a member of Wheeler Free Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in Japan.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothea Sanger of Wheeler, MI, 2 sons; Joseph & Ruth Sanger of Wheeler, MI, Mark & Barbara Sanger of Midland, MI, daughter Barbara & Robin Thompson of Wheeler, MI, 7 grandchildren; Eric Sanger of Merrill, MI, Steven & Susan Sanger of Byron Center, MI, David Sanger of Wheeler, MI, Marla & Brad Coon of Midland, MI, Alan & Kim Sanger of Wheeler, MI, Bruce & Amy Thompson of Dansville, MI, Rebecca Thompson & fiancAC. Omar Cruz of Puorto Rico, 13 great grandchildren, 1 sister Adora Leonhardt of St. Louis, MI, and 5 Nieces & Nephews. He is predeceased by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Wheeler Free Methodist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
