Beloved Mother & Grandmother Ida Elizabeth Flynn of Owosso, Michigan and formerly of Shiawassee Township died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 on her 90th birthday at the Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility in Corunna, Michigan. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Paula�(TM)s Catholic Church, Owosso on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Fr. John Fain & Rev. Fr. Frank Williams will officiate and burial will take place at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday & Friday from 2-8 P.M. at the Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna chapel. Rosary will be prayed on Friday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Ida was born in Waldron, Michigan on August 22, 1916 the daughter of John B. & Mary Edith (Good) Coleman, she resided most of her life in Shiawassee County, Michigan. On April 4, 1934 she married Basil J. Flynn at St. Paula�(TM)s Catholic Church in Owosso; they had just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary before he died on May 15, 1996. She was a homemaker & also worked at Redmonda�(TM)s & Whitea�(TM)s Bakery both of Owosso. Ida was known for her generous hospitality. She enjoyed playing games & cards with numerous friends & family.
Ida was a life member of St. Paula�(TM)s Catholic Church in Owosso, Michigan, and a member of St. Theresa Guild and the Altar Society, former member of the Shiawassee Farm Bureau & Kinga�(TM)s Daughters.
Survivors include her 5 daughters, Marie & Gerald Taylor of Owosso, MI, Millie & Frank Mentus of Owosso, MI, Pat Petrauskas of St. Leonard, Maryland, Janet & Edwin Franks of Owosso, MI, Debbie & Gary Harvey of Haslett, MI, 15 grandchildren: Gregory & Diane Taylor, Durand, MI, Margaret & Mark Perrin, Durand, MI, Brian & Tammy Taylor, Durand, MI, Kathy & Dan Seconsky, Corunna, MI, Tim & Shannon Mentus, Laingsburg, MI, Ann & Jim Buffa, Owosso, MI, Teresa & Chris Clark, LaPlata, Maryland, Linda Petrauskas, St. Leonard, Maryland, Angie & Roger Howell, Columbia, Maryland, Mark & Cindy Petrauskas, Owings, Maryland, Jeff Franks, Laingsburg, MI, Michelle & Robert Dedic, Owosso, MI, Stacie Harvey, Haslett, MI, Jenny Harvey, Kirkland, Washington, Jason Harvey, Haslett, MI, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 1 brother, Arthur & Charlotte Coleman, Owosso, Michigan. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Basil, 1 brother, Mahlon Coleman, 2 sisters, Goldie Cardwell & Maxine Splan, son in law, Dr. Raymond Petrauskas.
Memorial may be made to St. Paula�(TM)s Catholic Church, Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility or Avalon Hospice.
