Ilene Purves

Ilene Catherine Purves, age 92 of Elsie, Michigan passed away on January 15, 2015 in San Bruno, CA.

Family and friends are invited to remember Ilene at a graveside service to be held at the Fairfield Township Cemetery on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. All are invited to a luncheon at the Elsie United Methodist Church following the service.

Beloved mother of Lynda Purves and Tom (Allyson) Purves of San Francisco, CA.

Ilene was born in Carson City, MI in 1922, daughter of Oliver and Elizabeth (Mann) Dent. She graduated from Carson City High School, class of 1940.

In 1945, she married Harry Purves Jr. They spent 65 happy and wonderful years together on their farm in Fairfield Township, their cabin on Drummond Island, and traveling to Florida and California.

After Harry passed away in 2010, Ilene moved briefly to California to be taken care of by her children.

Preceding her in death besides her loving husband Harry, were two siblings, brother, Leslie J. Dent of Norththumberland, PA, and sister, Mary Lee Hansen of Alma, MI.

Ilene will be remembered with deep affection for her kind and caring nature. She was not only a loving mother, but always supportive and inspiring to her children.

The family thanks her caregivers at Westborough Manor for their gentle and tender care during her last years and the exceptional medical care provided by Dr. Helen Kao, UCSF Department of Geriatrics.
