Inez Victoria Rodgers, age 88, of Owosso, Michigan, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Ovid Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M., Chaplin Beverly Adcock will officiate. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Owosso, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 4-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI.
Inez was born in Teague, Texas on February 25, 1921, the daughter of Thomas Irvin and Sarah Jannie (Yohe) Cox. On August 10, 1944 she married Charles Albert Rodgers in Waco, Texas, Charles died in 1994.
Inez was a homemaker and she had worked for Universal Products for 6 years, and then Ventrola Manufacturing of Owosso. Inez and her husband founded Rodgers Roofing Company of Owosso. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary Chapter 63, Owosso, Michigan, and a member of the First Church of God, Owosso, Michigan, and she volunteered at Memorial Healthcare. She had lived in Shiawassee County since 1946.
She is survived by her daughter Peggy Johnson of Ovid, MI, 2 sons; Terry and Marita Rodgers of Laingsburg, MI, Charles and Sandra Keaton of Texas, 6 grandchildren; Connie & Gary Kioski, Allen Johnson, Lori & Robert Rodgers-Roll, Terese & Frank Essex, Shelly Rodgers, Ron & Dee Rodgers, 8 great grandchildren; Scott, Madeline, Kelsey, and Christopher Kioski, Wyatt, Jacy, and Travis Essex, Brooke Rodgers, 1 great great grandson Joseph Kioski and a great great granddaughter on the way. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Charles, son Ronald, 4 sisters and 1 brother, and son in law, Robert Johnson, and daughter in law, Jill Rodgers.
