Iona Humm

Iona E. Humm age 94 of Breckenridge, Michigan died Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center in Carrollton, TX.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Breckenridge United Methodist Church. Pastor Emilie Forward will officiate with burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Breckenridge, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home
Iona was born in Wyman, Michigan on September 14, 1910 the daughter of Mint and Nettie (Murray) Hockstra. She graduated from St. Louis High School Class of 1928. Iona also attended Yerington College of Business to study bookkeeping and music. She resided most of her life in the Breckenridge area. Iona married Lou E. Humm on January 18, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1990.
Iona worked at the St. Louis Hardware for Clare Bernard until 1932 when Mr. Latty and Mr. Sharkey purchased the business. Eventually when Don Sharkey took over the hardware, and the implement business, she was then employed for the implement business for several years.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Vera Humm of Carrollton, TX, Nela Humm of Ann Arbor, MI and
several nieces and nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers Verner and Clare
Memorials may be made to Breckenridge United Methodist Church, Howe Memorial Library, or the Breckenridge Rescue
