Irene M Heinze, age 95, of Bannister, MI passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at Ashley Care Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, MI on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Fr. Bill Gruden officiating. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI. Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Irene was born in Ashley, Michigan on July 16, 1920, the daughter of Oscar and Zulma (Grymonprez) Robbe. She graduated from Ashley High School. On July 12, 1947 she married Eugene Heinze at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, in Bannister, Michigan. Eugene passed away on November 23, 1992.
Irene worked on the family farm her entire life. She was a pilot for many years. She loved traveling with her family and friends. Irene enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and baking. She was known for her fried chicken Sunday dinners. Irene was a member of the St. Cyril's Catholic Church where she taught CCD and the St. Cyril's Catholic Altar Society. She was also a member of the Farm Buerau and Elsie Lioness Club.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Louise and Willard Huntoon of Grand Ledge, MI, Sharon and Donald Bowen of Ovid, MI, 5 sons; William and Susan Heinze of Ashley, MI, Charles Heinze of Gillette, Wyoming, Lester and Starry Heinze of Lakewood, CO, Fredrick Heinze of Bannister, MI, Dennis and Debbie Heinze of Gregory, MI, former daughters in law; Debra Heinze of Bannister, MI, and Teresa and Kevin Russell of Ovid, MI. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; Erich and Amanda Heinze, Jeremy and Cherise Heinze, Bryan and Jennifer Heinze, Sari and Jason Alger, Aaron and Kymber Heinze, Dr. Kristin (Dr. Colin McCluney) Huntoon, Jacob and Jodi Huntoon, Sam and Shelley Huntoon, Tim and Liz Heinze, Becky and Dan Guyski, Amanda and Dr. Michael Fizer, Ben Heinze, Bradley Heinze, Donielle Heinze, Curtis Heinze, Matthew Bowen, Katie Bowen, Caleb and Lauren Bowen, Justin Heinze, Austin Heinze. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and special nieces; Carol Fletcher and Kay McConnell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eugene, infant son Walter, son Patrick, grandson Clinton and great grandson Tyler.
