Irene Miller

Irene A. Miller of Ovid, passed away on the morning of Sunday, October 5, 2008, at the age of 90. She was born in Tuscola County, MI on August 16, 1918, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Schwartz) Snover. She was a member of Ovid High School Class of 1937. On December 12 of that year she married Earl Miller in Lansing, and he survives her. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and crosswords. Along with Earl, she was crowned the Queen and King of Ovid Healthcare Center this past Valentine's Day.

She is also survived by her son, Herb (Pat) Miller and daughter, Dorine (Lyle) Luft, all of Owosso, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother, Elmer (Mary) Snover of Millington and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Franklin Lee Luft, and her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Lena Snover.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Houghton Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 232 E. Oak St., Ovid with the Rev. Clifford Furness officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Sympathies may be expressed in the form of memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
