Irvin Thayer

Irvin L. Thayer age 56 of Wheeler, Michigan died Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Gratiot Community Hospital, Alma Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel. Mr. Keith Wise will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 25 from 11 a.m. until the service at 1:00 P.M.
Irvin was born on January 6, 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Clyde & Grace (Patterson) Thayer. He attended Ashley Schools. Irvin married Debbie Nieman on October 12, 1974 in Elsie, Michigan. He worked at various farming jobs. He loved fishing, hunting, and was an avid knife collector. He resided most of his life in the Ashley, Wheeler and Merrill areas.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Thayer of Wheeler, MI, 3 children, William Edward & Sue Mertens Thayer of St. Louis, MI, Scott & Sunday Thayer of Alma, MI, Tina & Miguel Rodriguez of Crystal, MI, 15 grandchildren; Laura, Trish, Breanne, Odin, Loki, Steven, Cassandra, Britney, Matthew, Kaitlin, Miguel Jr., Alicia, Juan, Jose and Cristina, 1 brother Gale & Peggy Thayer of Alma, MI mother, Grace Thayer & her significant other Ron Herzberg of Riverdale, MI, half sister Mary Nuvine of Brant, MI, his dog Angel and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the family.
The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel.
