Ivan Kimmel

Ivan Eugene “Ike” Kimmel, age 80, of Elsie, MI, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 with Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan.  Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI.

Ike was born in North Star, Michigan on October 27, 1937, the son of Clinton Alanzo and Hazel Thelma (Carothers) Kimmel. He served his country in the National Guard. He retired from Oldsmobile in Lansing, Michigan in 1999 after 32 years of service. Ike was a very sociable man he enjoyed riding his golf cart and visiting with people.

He is survived by a son, Brian Warne, of Carson City, MI; adopted daughter,  Christine Vostrirancky, of Bannister, MI; 4 sisters, Waneta and Alton Bigelow, of Elsie, MI;  Ruth and Joe Malek, of Ashley, MI; Sharlyn and Jim Chilcoat, of Ithaca, MI; Rosemary Bancroft, of Bad Axe, MI; brother, James and Judy Kimmel, of Ithaca, MI; sister in law, Sandra Kimmel, Marion Springs, MI; 2 grandchildren, Taylor Warne and Keely Warne,  and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers, Lester, Duane and Ronnie, 5 sisters, Connie, Bonnie, Joyce, Phyllis and Twilla, brother in law, Russell Nieman.
