Jack Bedell

Jack R. Bedell, age 84, of Durand, MI passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Jennings-Lyons Chapel Owosso, MI, on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM, Pastor Curt DeWitt will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 31, 2011 from 6-8 PM and Monday, August 1, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.

Jack was born in Bancroft, Michigan on May 21, 1927, the son of Elias XL and Eva (Godley) Bedell. Jack married Marjorie Smith on February 5, 1948 in Angola, IN. He resided most of his life in Shiawassee County and served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Jack was the owner of Bedell Sheet Metal. His business installed rain gutters on many homes in the area. Jack also did custom copper work on homes and businesses. Jack enjoyed gardening, reading, being outdoors, but most importantly spending time with his family. He was a member of the Builders Association and the VFW Corunna Post #4005.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie Bedell of Durand, MI, 2 daughters; Sherry and Richard Schultz of Corunna, MI, Debbie and Ben Schultz of Owosso, MI, son John and Judy Bedell of Longwood, FL, 7 grandchildren; Michelle, Kathy, Amy, Daniel, Megan, Tom and Katie, 5 great-grandchildren; Brendan, Christian, Abigail, Morgan and Ryan, brother Farren Bedell of Columbiaville, MI, and sister Daisy Lueker of Redding, CA. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Bedell.
