Jack Lockwood

Jack Darel Lockwood age 85, of Elsie, MI, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie, MI, on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M., with Mr. Dennis Baese officiating.  Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Jack was born in Rush Township, Ohio on February 7, 1932, the son of Vayne Marks and Amy Byrl (Hicks) Lockwood. He graduated from Elsie High School.  Jack married Carolyn McLain on March 2, 1957, at the Elsie United Methodist Church.

Jack served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Consumers Energy after 28 years of service. Jack enjoyed golfing and was a member of the North Star Golf Course for several years. He also enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, and family cook outs. Jack liked the winters spent at his home in Arizona, traveling and time spent at the lake.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Lockwood of Elsie, MI; son Jim Lockwood and special friend Pam Amidon of Owosso, MI, his daughter Jessica Lockwood; daughter Debbie Minarik of Elsie, MI, her children; Jackie (Casey) Holton, Mindy and Ben Walter; daughter Cheryl Micka of Elsie, MI, her son Joshua Micka; son Brian and Wendy Lockwood of Ovid, MI, their children; Cody, Jacob, Brian and Angel Lockwood; 12 great grandchildren, siblings; Shirley Baese, Barb Townsend, Joy  Goodman, Larry and Wanda Lockwood, and Lowell and Donna Lockwood.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his son in law.
