James Ashcraft

James "Jim" R. Ashcraft age 58 of Owosso, Michigan died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel. Pastor Curt Dewitt will officiate with burial at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Ionia, Michigan. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services on Wednesday morning.

Jim was born on May 21, 1947 in Covington, Kentucky the son of Randall and Cora Louise (Holt) Ashcraft. He resided most of his life in Michigan. He attended school in Covington, Kentucky and graduated from Lansing Adult Education. Jim married Josephine Foster on May 28, 1972 in Phoenix, Arizona. Jim was employed as a mechanic/maintenance worker for the State of Michigan. He enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, and watching football, especially the Oakland Raiders. He loved to spend time with his "babies".

He is survived by his wife Josephine Ashcraft of Owosso, Michigan, 3 children; Marie Ashcraft of Owosso, Michigan, Isiah Ashcraft of Owosso, Michigan, Izabella Ashcraft of Owosso, Michigan, and 2 grandchildren; Hannah Ashcraft of Owosso, Michigan and Adriana Ashcraft of Owosso, Michigan. He is predeceased by his parents, a daughter Michelle Ashcraft in September 2004, and a sister Elizabeth Ashcraft.

Memorial contributions may be made to Owosso Seventh Day Adventist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.
