James Paul Baker Jr., age 81, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation 12 noon until time of service at Labuda Funeral Home 356 Portage Road, Niagara Falls, New York. Burial will take place at Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, New York.
Jim was born in Wilmington, Delaware on May 27, 1933, the son of James Paul and Lillian (Monroe) Baker. On May 27, 1962 he married Geraldine Durham in Lewiston, NY. Jim served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Titanium Corporation now known as Tam Ceramics, retiring in 1995 after 37 years of service.
He resided most of his life in Niagara Falls, moving to North Carolina in 1995. His family was very important to him. He enjoyed bowling for many years and in his later years he enjoy WEE Bowling with his children and grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife Geraldine "Skooky" Baker, 3 daughters; Terri and Mike Gilkerson, Ronda Baker, Kristine and Kenneth Baker-Chester, 2 sons; Ed and Dora Baker, Rick Baker, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters & 1 brother.
