James Droste

James R. Droste, 79, of St. Johns, formerly of Westphalia, died Sunday, January 10, 2010. He was the son of Anthony and Anna (Harr) Droste, and was born and raised in Westphalia. Jim married Deanna Becher in 1955, she preceded him in death in 1994. Jim married Evonne Tomasek in 1998. Jim retired from Fisher Body after 30 years of service. In his retirement, Jim enjoyed farming, going to the casino, playing cards, bingo, gardening and cutting wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Deanna's parents, RG and Florence Becher, sisters, Bernadine (Roy) Alexander, Florence "Toots" (Louie) Cook, brother, John, brother in law, Richard Becher.

He is survived by sons, Mike, Tony (Maggie) and Mark (Denise) Droste, daughters, Trish (Joe) Witgen, Lynn (Kevin) Stalker, Diann (Al) Wilson, Ellen (Steve) Miller and Jamie (Ken) Gilbertson, sister, Helen (Paul) Fox, sister-in-law, Bonnie (Larry) Main, brother-in-law, Doug Becher; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grand children, 5 step children and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring to make contributions may make them directly to the family.
