James Gleason

James W. Gleason age 58 of St. Johns, Michigan died Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at his home. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene, in St. Johns, Michigan on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. and Friday 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Pastor Tim Cockroft will officiate and burial will take place in the South Bingham Township Cemetery, St. Johns, Michigan.
James was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 7, 1948 the son of Richard Brown & Georgia Irene ( King ) Gleason Sr. He married Sandra Kay Shawa in Lansing, Michigan on October 14, 1967, Sandra died December 13, 2005. Jim worked as a machinist for The Dana Corporation in St. Johns, Michigan, he attended the Church of the Nazarene in St. Johns, Michigan. He resided most of his life in the Lansing area, moving to St. Johns 10 years ago. Jim enjoyed working on computers, hunting & fishing and being around people and family.
Survivors include his 4 children, James P. & Roxanne Gleason of St. Johns, Michigan, Kathy & Doug Fladseth of St Johns, Michigan, Norma & Robert Swanson of Fowler, Michigan, Jennifer & Matt Brown of Fowler, Michigan, 6 grandchildren, Scott, Bryan, Kristin, Rachel, Trisha & Kaitlyn, 5 sisters, Georgia Beck of East Lansing, Michigan, Roxanna Brogdon of Lansing, Michigan, Ruth & Jim Young of Wisconsin, Sue & Jeff Ferrell of Belair, Michigan, Caroline Perry of Lansing, Michigan, 2 brothers Michael & Joyce Gleason of Afton, Michigan, Richard & Judy Gleason of St. Johns, Michigan, Other family Kari Brown & her son Damien, Kym & Doug Piggott & son Josh Canfield, Family of the heart Sue & Bradley Myers.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife, 1 grandson, Connor, brother in laws, Dean Beck & Bill Brogdon & 1 niece Laura Beck. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene in St. Johns, Michigan.
