James "Jim" George Robbe, age 58, of Bannister, MI died Monday, July 20, 2009 in Bannister, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Joseph Robbe & Mr. Thomas Bradley will officiate. Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 5:30-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel Elsie, Michigan. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 P.M. Thursday at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel.

Jim was born in St. Johns, Michigan on May 14, 1951, the son of George P. and Doris E. (Mitchell) Robbe. He graduated from Ashley High School with the class of 1969 and resided most of his life in the Ashley - Bannister area. Jim was a partner with his brother David, in Robbe Brothers Hoof Trimming. He enjoyed golfing, softball and all sports, He especially enjoyed visiting his son and daughter in law, Jeremy and Brenda and his grandchildren in Tennessee, and was an avid Detroit Tiger and Lions fan. He was a member of St. Cyril's Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus in Bannister.

Jim is survived by his son, Jeremy and Brenda Robbe of Tennessee, 2 grandchildren; Jordan & Jossalynn Robbe, 1 sister Patricia and Mike Smith of Ithaca, Michigan, 5 brothers; David and Linda Robbe of Ithaca, Michigan, Robert Robbe of Tennessee, Joseph and Nancyanne Robbe of Portland, Michigan, Rodney Robbe of Gulf Port, Mississippi, Richard and Sheila Robbe of St. Johns, Michigan, He was predeceased by his parents.
