James Ross
James Carl Ross, age 66, of Flint, MI formerly of St. Louis, MI died Friday, May 13, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes. Internment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date with the family present.
Jim was born in Alma, Michigan on June 28, 1944, the son of Carl and Virginia (Ward) Ross. He graduated from Shepherd High School with the class of 1963. Jim married Sharon Doimer on February 18, 1995. He retired from Heat and Frost Insulators Local 47 in 2001, and was also a lifelong farmer in St. Louis. Jim enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, fishing at Fletchers pond, and loved family time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Breckenridge Masonic Lodge, past member of the St. Louis Board of Education for 15 years, and a member of Wheeler Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Ross of Flint, MI, daughter Becky and Dave Bachelder of Edmore, MI, son James and Tracy Ross Jr. of Hooks, TX, son Mike Ross and Jodi Gushen of Mt. Pleasant, MI, daughter Amy and Brent McQueen of Vestaburg, MI, daughter Melissa and Tony Ross of Ionia, MI, son Andy and Regina Ross of Flint, MI, stepdaughters; Teresa and Tahir Syed of Flint, MI, Diana and Alan Slater of Riverdale, MI, Cyndi and Kevin Wing of Elm Hall, MI, Julie and Tim Bush of Bannister, MI, 37 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brother Bill and Helen Ross of Ft. Wayne, IN, brother Jack and Beverly Ross of St. Louis, MI, and sister Sharon and Mike McGee of New Port Richey, FL, and devoted canine companion Lacey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 grandsons C.J. Ross and Justin Ellsworth.
