James G. Stump passed away on September 5, 2012 at the age of 48. Born May 20, 1964, in Ionia, Michigan, the son of Leon and Theresa (Schafer) Stump. Jim was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pewamo and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He worked for Westphalia Electric for 25 years, loved University of Michigan Football, the Detroit Tigers and playing horseshoes.
Jim is survived by his mother, Theresa Stump, of Pewamo, nine siblings, Pam (Tom) Schrauben, Judy (Stan) Simon, Lori (Kevin) Fox, Brenda (Kurt) Bengel, Bob Stump and Glen Stump, all of Westphalia, and Pat (Pam) Stump, Rick Stump and Randy Stump, all of Pewamo, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Stump.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo with Fr. Charlon Mason presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at St. Mary's Chapel in Westphalia, from 7-9 p.m., Thursday with rosary being prayed at 8 p.m., and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., Friday with a rosary being prayed at 3 p.m. and a scripture service at 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pewamo, or Sparrow Hospice Services.
